New dashboard features!

Starting today, you can to enable data range selection, filter incoming data using a top level query, and limit data to specific hostnames in your custom dashboards. These new features should be particularly exciting if you’re using Symmetrics for more than one website!

Example use cases

We’re already using these features in our dashboards. Here are some cases they’ve proven extra useful:

• Client dashboards: Instead of setting a hostname filter in every single of your widgets, simply add a hostname filter and reuse all your widgets as they are.
• Inspect key moments: Enable date range selection for your dashboard to let viewers inspect and analyze your data per day.
• Filter out private site paths: Using a top level query, we’ve removed everything behind the /test/ folder from our public dashboard using this query:

  where urlPath ^!= /test/
  where urlPath != /test

  This query removes data from all paths starting with /test/ and explicitly /test.
