Glossary
These are the terms that are used throughout Symmetrics, describing our core concepts.
Signal
The piece of code on your website or in your application that sends information to Symmetrics. You can read more about the signal here.
Events
Usually page views, unless you’ve implemented collection of custom event types. Plans come with an included number of events every month, and overages are billed on demand.
If you’ve set up Apps such as e-mail digests or webhooks, each sent e-mail or webhook event also counts as one event.
To view your current events count, refer to the subscription page.
Data retention
We safely collect and store all your data indefinitely. You can request a full export of this data, or at any time download the current data subset.
Data subset
The data you are able to query is a subset based on attributes in your subscription plan.
Data time frames
This attribute describes how far back in time your data subset goes. It can be increased, or decreased, depending on your needs. When not on a paid plan, your data time frame is set to 7 days.
To view your current data time frame, refer to the subscription page.
Data refresh intervals
This attribute describes how often your data subset is updated. It can be decreased, or increased, depending on your needs. When not on a paid plan, your data refresh interval is set to 15 minutes.
